Free Fire India is one of the upcoming games for the Indian audience. First announced on August 31 with a September 5 release date, BR fans in the country were ecstatic to hear the news. But now, the release of Free Fire India seems to be delayed.
For the uninitiated, Free Fire India is the local version of the popular Garena game series. The launch in the country comes after the Indian electronics and IT ministry banned the flagship game for alleged data privacy concerns in early 2022. Earlier this year, Garena announced that it and the government of Uttar Pradesh, an Indian state most people are making MoU under It also partners with them. Perhaps this change could lead to the return of Free Fire India.
Garena had initially announced the release of Free Fire India on September 5. However, a day before the scheduled release date, the company said that “the release date is being pushed back by a few weeks some more”.
But even a few months later, the developer has yet to announce a new release date for the title, leaving fans more confused about what will be released
Garena explained her decision to push back the release date. The company said it wants to give players a better experience upon release in addition to completing the game’s localization.
Apart from this, Garena also said that former Indian national men’s cricket team captain MS Dhoni will be the brand ambassador. MS Dhoni may also have a role in the game. The company also promised to host esports tournaments once the game is released.
